How The Tan Works

Made from wholly organic sugar beet, the DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) reacts with amino acids in skin causing the Maillard Reaction. The resulting chemicals from this reaction are varying shades of brown and yellow. This colouration is very similar to that of melanocytes during sun (UV) exposure.

What Can Impact Your Tan

Some essential amino acids can be easily affected by environmental factors such as diets, dehydration, stress/exhaustion, hormonal balance, illness, medication and so on. This will lessen the duration of your tan and also the depth of colour. The healthier your skin, the better your tanning results will be. i.e. development, length of time on the skin and also the perfect fade.

Chlorine, perfume, deodorant, and products containing essential oils can all affect your tan result and how long your tan lasts.
